| USAGE: |
- The present perfect simple is used
to talk about recent events or actions that have just finished, or when
you want to emphasize the action, not when it happened.
E.g.:
Mary has gone to England twice. (Here you are more interested in the
action, being to England, than when it happened)
|
| |
- The present perfect simple is also
used when the time reference you mention is not finished yet.
e.g.: Today I have had an exam. (the
exam is finished, but the period of time you're mentioning is not,
so we need a verb tense which refers to the present and the past at
the same time, that is the present perfect simple)
|
- There are several adverbials which
help you identify the present perfect. Those are: already, ever, never,
just, not yet, so far, till now, up to now.
